The Member of Parliament for Kumawu, Ernest Yaw Anim, has donated a motorcycle, a laptop and cash for fuel to the Sekyere Kumawu District Office of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) to strengthen its operations.

The donation is intended to help officers reach remote communities, investigate human rights complaints and improve public education, particularly in areas where limited transport and logistical resources have affected the Commission’s work.

Presenting the items at his residence in Kumawu, Mr Anim, who chairs Parliament’s Human Rights Committee, said CHRAJ played a vital role in protecting vulnerable people but needed adequate resources to discharge its mandate effectively.

He also announced plans to provide the district office with quarterly support for fuel and operational expenses.

The District Director of CHRAJ, who received the items on behalf of the Commission, described the support as timely, noting that the lack of transport had made it difficult for officers to investigate cases and conduct community outreach.

He pledged to put the items to good use and appealed to other individuals and organisations to support the Commission.
