Krishna Byre Gowda

Officially announcing the inauguration date of the much-awaited elevated section of the Pink Line of the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL), Greater Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda on Tuesday said efforts to resolve bottlenecks and accelerate the project have paid off, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled to inaugurate the stretch on November 13.

In a post on X, the Minister said the government had worked with BMRCL and other agencies concerned to address hurdles and keep the project on track.

The inauguration would take the operational metro network in Bengaluru beyond 100 km, marking a significant expansion of the city’s public transport infrastructure.

Mr. Gowda said the government would build on this progress and work towards expanding the metro network to 170 km by 2027.
