EDB urge investors to explore space sector opportunities at CII summit in Vizag

Andhra Pradesh’s space ecosystem is anchored by Sriharikota, the EDB says in a social media post

The AP Economic Development Board (AP - EDB) has exhorted prospective investors to explore the space sector opportunities in Andhra Pradesh at the 31st CII Partnership Summit-2026 scheduled to be held in Visakhapatnam on November 12 and 13.

The EDB said in a social media post that the State’s space ecosystem was anchored by Sriharikota, home to the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, India’s only operational spaceport, which had over 90 successful launches.

Under its Space Policy 4.0, the State planned to develop two dedicated Space Cities: the proposed facility in Tirupati district focused on manufacturing, integration and launch logistics, and Sri Sathya Sai district envisioned as a centre for design, development and research.

“With additional industrial clusters identified across Anantapur, Chittoor and Nellore, Andhra Pradesh is creating opportunities across precision engineering, electronics, component manufacturing and emerging space applications,” the EDB noted.
