NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 4-The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has secured court orders freezing a parcel of land and six motor vehicles linked to an Embu MCA as it pursues the recovery of KSh111.5 million allegedly acquired through irregular county government transactions.
The orders bar Mbeti North Ward MCA Peter Muriithi Nyaga from selling, transferring, disposing of, or otherwise dealing with the assets pending the hearing and determination of the recovery suit.
In a ruling delivered on October 29, 2026, Justice Biomdo also directed the Land Registrar and the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) to place restrictions on the properties to prevent their transfer, leasing, or use as security.
“The Commission filed the suit on August 28, 2026, against Peter Muriithi Nyaga and six companies associated with him: Truco Enterprises Ltd, Peanco Ltd, Njewaco Ltd, Hasoco Ltd, Hiwco Ltd and Isaac & Timothy Company Ltd,”EACC said.
According to the Commission, investigations established that Nyaga traded with the county government through companies in which he had interests, creating a conflict of interest.
The five companies named in the alleged transactions are Truco Enterprises Ltd, Peanco Ltd, Njewaco Ltd, Hasoco Ltd and Hiwco Ltd.
EACC further alleges that part of the money was used to acquire land parcel number Mbeti/Kiamuringa/49, registered under Isaac & Timothy Company Ltd, as well as six motor vehicles.
The court orders are intended to preserve the assets while the Commission pursues the recovery proceedings.
The case forms part of EACC’s efforts to recover public funds allegedly lost through conflicts of interest and irregular dealings involving public officials and entities doing business with government institutions.
