The project has an estimated value of ₹7,000 crore and will be developed in phases over approximately ten years

GTB Developers (GT Bharathi Urban Developers Pvt Ltd) announced that it has been granted a licence by the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) to develop World Trade Center Chengalpattu. This particular project is planned as an IT integrated township of 100 to 150 acre, rather than an industrial estate.

The project has an estimated value of ₹7,000 crore and will be developed in phases over approximately ten years. The proposed masterplan includes commercial and IT office space, hospitality, residences and an education zone. GTB is at an advanced stage of identifying and securing land for the project.

GTB is also pursuing a second World Trade Center development in Kanchipuram district, proposed across approximately 500 acres. Unlike Chengalpattu, it is envisaged as an industrial World Trade Center, with manufacturing and data centre zones alongside infrastructure, education and hospitality.

GTB intends to explore the project under a public-private partnership (PPP) model, one of the structures under which World Trade Centers are developed globally.
