All 11 accused arrested in connection with the firing on Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s car were re-arrested under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) on Wednesday (October 28, 2026), after a special court in Mumbai granted permission to the Crime Branch to proceed under the stringent law.

The accused were produced before the special MCOCA court on Wednesday (October 28, 2026), a day after the Mumbai Crime Branch invoked provisions of the Act against them. During the hearing, the prosecution moved a formal application seeking permission to re-arrest the accused under the newly added provisions.

The court allowed the application, following which the Crime Branch formally re-arrested all 11 accused under MCOCA. They will be produced before the court again on Thursday (October 29, 2026) when investigators are expected to seek their police remand.

On Tuesday (October 27, 2026), the Crime Branch had invoked Sections 3(1)(ii), 3(2) and 3(4) of MCOCA against all 11 accused after obtaining approval from the competent authority under Section 23(1)(a) of the Act.

The case, registered on October 19 under Crime Register No. 143/2026, initially included Sections 109(1) (attempt to murder) and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 3 and 25 of the Arms Act.

The case pertains to the October 18 firing incident in Mumbai’s Juhu area, when two assailants allegedly opened fire on Tiger Shroff’s car as he was leaving a football ground. Five rounds were fired during the attack. While the actor escaped largely unhurt, his driver and a bystander were injured.

Members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang subsequently claimed responsibility for the attack. Police have also named Anil Pandit, an alleged associate of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, as a wanted accused in the case.

Of the 11 accused arrested so far, three were apprehended in Kota, Rajasthan, while others were arrested from locations including Delhi, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh. Investigators suspect the attack was part of a larger organised criminal conspiracy aimed at establishing financial and territorial dominance and spreading fear.

The invocation of MCOCA introduces stricter bail conditions and provides investigators with an extended period to file a charge sheet, subject to statutory requirements and judicial approval.
