Cups of Honey Almond Cream Cheese were mistakenly labeled as plain Nearly 150 cases of one Einstein Bros. cream cheese flavor. Bagels have been recalled on the potential presence of undeclared almonds which could pose a risk of a life-threatening allergic reaction for people with almond allergies.
Wisconsin-based Schreiber Foods last week issued a voluntary recall of cases of Einstein’s Honey Almond Cream Cheese Spread that were mistakenly identified on the cup as plain, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
“Individuals who are allergic or sensitive to almonds are at risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product,” the FDA said in a press release.

In total, 144 boxes distributed to Einstein Store Locations Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Wyoming were affected by the recall.
The cream cheese spread comes in a 6-ounce plastic cup with an Einstein Bros. label. Bagels. The lot code located on the bottom of the mug is Best if used before July 21, 2026 LO.

The recall was issued after a shipment was discovered with a mismatched lid and cup, the FDA said.
The lid correctly identifies the product as Honey Almond, but the cup incorrectly labels it as plain. An investigation suggested that a limited packaging issue had been corrected, and a review confirmed that the issue was limited to this product only.

Customers who purchased the products with mismatched packaging are requested to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
So far, no illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall.
