Doki Doki Literature Club is no longer available to play on Android devices. The 2017 hit visual novel was removed on April 8 due to an alleged violation of the Google Play Store’s terms of service. Publisher Serenity Forge said it was fighting to restore the game to the mobile storefront and defended the visual novel’s handling of mental health issues.
“Their explanation is that the game’s content violates their terms of service in depicting sensitive themes,” the company said. wrote in a statement on April 9.DDLC is widely celebrated for depicting mental health in a way that creates a deep and meaningful connection with gamers everywhere, helping them feel heard, understood, and less alone in their journey.
He continues: “Being successful in doing this – making a truly meaningful difference by using the power of fiction to connect with others – is what I’m most grateful for. It inspires me every day to keep creating cool new things, things that can really reach others, especially those who need connection.”

Doki Doki Literature Club arrived on the Google Play Store last December without issue and remains available on the Switch eShop, PlayStation Store, Xbox and Steam. The sudden removal was interpreted by some fans as part of an ongoing crackdown by banks and payment processors on platforms that host content that some censorship groups deem objectionable.
Last summera number of games have been banned from Steam and other storefronts for including NSFW content or even just depictions of adult sexual themes. But since Horse literature Keyb remains available on iOS, it is also possible that Google simply made a mistake.
