If you have fond memories of grain prices, this news might upset you.
Cereal boxes just aren’t as fun without the included prizes that many of us remember from our childhoods. From the Cap’n Crunch whistles that are said to have helped spark the concept of computer hacking and ultimately inspired Apple Computer to classic Freakies monsters, some of these treasures still float around flea markets and dusty attics.
Froot Loops is one of the cereals that will include Toy Story promotions. This box advertises that it contains free trading cards.
Kellogg’sNow, a whole new generation will be able to relive the allure of throwing out an entire box of sugary cereal to unearth a hidden prize — at least while supplies last.
Starting April 26, select boxes of Kellogg’s Froot Loops, Frosted Flakes, Corn Pops, Apple Jacks, Frosted Mini-Wheats, Rice Krispies, Corn Flakes and Cocoa Loops cereals will contain Toy Story-inspired prizes. It’s quite a promotion for the Movie Toy Story 5which hits theaters on June 19.
Some classic cereal-rewarded toys will return (Kellogg’s isn’t revealing which ones), while other boxes will include items more collectible than toys. Plastic spoons featuring Buzz Lightyear, Jessie the Cowgirl and Sheriff Woody will be among the prizes, along with trading cards.
If you want to revisit the old Toy Story films before the new one comes out, they’re all streaming on Disney+.
