President Trump will speak to the media around 10:15 p.m. ET to discuss details of the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner Saturday evening.
The president was pushed to the ground by Secret Service agents after at least six shots were fired in a lobby near the ballroom of the Hilton Hotel in Washington, where the event was being held.
President Trump was kicked out of the hotel and taken back to the White House, where he announced that the shooter was in custody and safe. He also said Melania Trump, J.D. Vance and his Cabiet were in “perfect condition”.
According to CNN, the shooter was identified as a 30-year-old man from Los Angeles.
No one inside the ballroom was injured, although CNN reports that a law enforcement officer may have pulled on his vest.
The event was canceled although Trump said he would try again in the next 30 days.
TMZ will livestream the president’s remarks.
