Rep. Thomas Kean Jr. Mystery illness caused weeks of missed votes

Representative Thomas Kean Jr. has been absent from Congress for almost 2 months and no one knew why…until now.
On Monday — after weeks of missed votes — the New Jersey congressman posted on X that he had a “personal medical issue” … but didn’t go into detail.
He said he expected to recover from the mysterious illness, writing… “My doctors continue to assure me that my recovery will be complete and that I will return to the work I love very soon. I hope to get back to a busy schedule and be 100 percent.”
Kean thanked his congressional colleagues for their “patience and understanding”… something he doesn’t seem to be getting from his constituents at the moment.
This is the first time that the House Republican has acknowledged his absence… and he gets angry in the comments.
Many people point out that they would have been fired if they had been absent without saying why… and some are calling for his resignation, even if he is ill.
It should be noted that Rep. Kean is up for re-election this year and is the only Republican on the ballot in his district. Meanwhile, four Democrats are vying for his seat.
The primary election is June 2…and it’s unclear when the congressman will return to Washington.
