representative Tom Kean Jr. finally explained his mysterious absence from Congress for 116 days… after disappearing from public life for months.
On Tuesday, Kean took the stand to explain why he was MIA… explaining that he suffered from severe depression. The congressman explained that he took a leave of absence on orders from his doctor.
Kean virtually disappeared from Washington in early March… missing more than 100 votes in the House while his office only offered vague updates about a “personal health problem”.
The lack of answers has sparked growing concern from voters, political insiders and even members of his own party.

Kean was greeted by a crowd of reporters Tuesday upon his return to the Capitol… but he didn’t take questions as he made his way to the House… remaining silent before his big speech.
Last week, Kean was spotted outside his New Jersey home for the first time in months… telling reporters he planned to return to Congress and promising he would be “totally transparent” about what happened once he returned to Washington.
