Ackles, who returns as a fan favorite The boys character Soldier Boy, won’t be the only familiar face we’ll see in this offshoot.

Indeed, Aya Cash, who played Clara Vought/Stormfront in The boys seasons 2 and 3, is back for more R-rated superhuman action and drama. At this point on The boys timeline (more on that shortly), however, her individual superhero alias is Liberty, so don’t expect to hear her Stormfront alias used here. Mason Dye, who played Bombsight in The boys season 5 episode 6, is also part of the cast.

As for the rest of the Prime Video show’s roster, Elizabeth Posey (Heels, Euphoria) and Wil Hochman (Blue blood) are on board like two other first generation Supes from Vought. Posey will play Private Angel, while Hochman will play Torpedo.

KiKi Layne (The Old Guard 2), Jordan Myrie (The Bridgerton Chronicles, Sherwood), Nicolo Pasetti (Industry), Ricky Staffieri (The bear), and Brian J. Smith (Sens8, Stargate).

Here is the official logline for Vought Rising: “Set in the 1950s, the prequel series explores the twisted origins of Vought International.”

It’s really not much to do, is it? Nonetheless, as I pointed out earlier in this article, it will show how Vought came to be in the wake of WWII and how Compound V and the early Supes were created. Add to that a vast conspiracy that Soldier Boy and Liberty are likely to be at the heart of, and Vought Rising has all the ingredients to be another success for Prime Video, aka one of the best streaming services in the world.

Of course, what Vought RisingThe very brief summary of the story does not tell us if its story will take place over several periods.

Indeed, with Soldier Boy surviving – albeit thanks to a cryogenic chamber – until the end of The boysit is possible that we can see him awakened in the present as part of Vought Rising’global history. Speaking to Deadline recently, franchise overlord Eric Kripke responded “no comment” when asked if this prequel would take place in the past and present, which is usually code for “yes.” So don’t be surprised if The boysThe latest spin-off reunites us with Soldier Boy in present-day America as well as the 1950s.
