Nick Reiner wants the money he says he owes him from his parents’ trust Fly And Michele Reiner set up for him… as he awaits trial for their murders.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the 32-year-old filed a motion Monday, seeking distribution of the money he said was supposed to be paid out from the trust when he turned 30.
Nick said he tried to hire a lawyer Alan Jackson to help him fight murder charges, which he says his siblings Jacques And Romy accepted. He claims the trustee refused to pay Jackson, causing him to drop the case.
According to the petition, Nick told the trustee that “time is of the essence.” He explained that he needed Jackson to avoid “further endangering my defense in the criminal case.” He added that his efforts to obtain the money resulted only in “delays and inaction.”
Nick demands accountability and damages from the trustee.
Newspapers say his parents set up the fund in 1992 for Nick, Jake and Romy. The filing states that Nick currently has no other source of funding for his legal fees or basic support while he is behind bars.
As you know, Nick has been charge with two counts of first degree murder for allegedly stabbing your parents to death in December.
We broke the story… in February, we learned that Romy and Jake had no plan rush to find a private lawyer for their brother after Jackson resigned.
In April, his brother Jake shared a heartbreaking article about their murder – just days before Nick’s preliminary hearing – saying… “So much was stolen from me that day. My parents won’t be at my wedding, they won’t get to hold their future grandchild, and they won’t see me have the successful career I’m still striving for.”
Their sister, Romyhas not spoken publicly about this terrible tragedy, but Jake said in her post that she will do it “in her own way and in her own time.”
Nick pleaded not guilty And appeared in court on April 29 for preliminaries… where it was confirmed that Rob and Michele’s autopsies were still not done, 4 months after their tragic deaths.
The judge decided to postpone the hearing until September because they were still waiting for evidence crucial to discovery.
