Austin Metcalf TikTok Dance Appears to Show People Mocking Teen’s Death

A disturbing trend on TikTok is sparking widespread backlash after users began posting videos that appear to mock the murder of a Texas teenager. Austin Metcalf.
The videos show people dancing to a rap song called “Austin Bop,” some apparently performing knife moves and others holding knives while imitating the deadly attack. Additional clips include jokes and memes targeting Metcalf and his family.
The trend focuses on the 2025 murder of the 17-year-old, who was fatally injured. stabbed during an altercation during a high school track meet. Carmelo Anthony was later sentenced of murder and sentenced to 35 years in prison after a jury rejected his claim self-defense.
The song used in the videos includes lyrics referencing Metcalf’s stabbing and death. Another piece circulating online is allegedly aimed at Austin’s twin brother, Hunter Metcalfwho was with him the day after the attack.
The videos were widely condemned on social media, with many users calling the trend cruel and accusing the creators of turning the family tragedy into viral entertainment.
