Meta appointed Dina Powell McCormick, banking industry executive and former Republican White House official, will be the new president and vice president. The company said McCormick will help drive its overall strategy and execution as a member of the executive leadership team.
“Dina’s experience at the highest levels of global finance, combined with her deep relationships across the globe, makes her uniquely suited to help Meta manage this next phase of growth as the Company’s Chairman and Vice Chairman,” said Mark Zuckerberg, Founder and CEO of Meta.
McCormick was a partner at Goldman Sachs and led its global sovereign investment banking business. She was most recently vice president, president and head of global client services at investment bank BDT & MSD Partners. McCormick also served as deputy national security advisor to President Donald Trump during his first term and served in several positions during the George W. Bush administration, including serving as deputy secretary of state to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. She is married to Senator Dave McCormick (R-PA).
The new president of Meta joins the company’s board of directors last April, but she resigned in December. A few weeks later, McCormick took on a larger role at Meta.
McCormick is the second former Trump official that Meta has appointed to a senior role this month. Last week, the company hiring Curtis Joseph Mahoney, who was most recently vice president and general counsel at Microsoft, as general counsel. Mahoney was deputy U.S. trade representative during the first Trump administration.
