Good news for all Ryan Coogler fans: the Sinners The director is bringing back a beloved TV show. Hulu Officially Greenlighted a Coogler Pilot X-Files reboot, a project in preparation for three years, Deadline reports. Coogler has an exclusive five-year television contract with Disney, Hulu’s parent company.
Coogler is directing and writing the pilot episode, with Jennifer Yale serving as showrunner. She previously held the role in The Copenhagen test. Actress Danielle Deadwyler, known for her roles in Until And The harder they fallsigned as co-responsible.
The series will follow the original story of two FBI agents who bond while working on cases involving paranormal and unexplained phenomena. No confirmation has come that former stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny will play roles in the reboot.
The news broke on Sunday, the same day Coogler won the BAFTA for best original screenplay for Sinners. Coogler made history this year with a record 16 Oscar nominations For Sinnersincluding best original screenplay and best film. Coogler also wrote and directed Creed, Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
