Rihanna hasn’t released an album in 10 years, but that hasn’t stopped his devoted fans, known as Navy, from constantly begging for it. Based on the superstar’s social media post, they might get their wish sooner than they thought.
Since Rihanna released her chart-topping album “Anti” in 2016, she has become a billionaire, thanks to her hit brand Fenty Beauty – but her fans hoped she would return to what made her a star, her music.

The superstar has experienced many stops and starts in producing new music

Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar in March 2025, the nine-time Grammy winner opened up about releasing new music after such a long time away.
“I think music is my freedom. I just realized that. I just cracked the code of what I really want to do for my next job. I actually feel really good about that. I know I’ve continued to say that over the years,” she told the outlet at the time.

“There’s no genre anymore,” Rihanna revealed of her upcoming album. “That’s why I waited. Every time, I was like, ‘No, it’s not me. It’s not good. This does not correspond to my growth. This does not correspond to my evolution. I can’t do this. I can’t stand this. I can’t play that for a year on tour.”
She went on to emphasize that since her extended absence, she needs to make sure her music is groundbreaking.
“After a while, I looked at it and said to myself that time away from music has to count towards the next thing that everyone hears. It has to count. It has to count. I have to show them the value of waiting. I can’t come up with anything mediocre. After waiting eight years, I might as well wait some more,” she said.

The multi-platinum artist added, “I know it’s not going to be something that everyone expects. And it’s not going to be commercial or radio-friendly. It’s going to be where my artistry deserves to be right now. I feel like I’ve finally made it, girl!”

Rihanna is busy expanding her family

Since “Anti” topped the charts, Rihanna has become a mother of three, welcoming her first son RZA in 2022, her second son Riot a year later in 2023, and her first daughter, Rocki, in September 2025.
She sent fans into a tizzy when she hinted earlier this year that a fourth baby could be on her busy schedule.
According to Us Weekly, earlier this month, Rihanna hinted that she wasn’t done growing her family.
The singer-turned-mogul responded to a post from “Love Island” star Montana Rose that read: “Deciding to get hot and sexy or get pregnant in 2026.” Rihanna replied under the post: “Wait! So I’m not crazy? Bet!”
While many fans were happy about the possibility of Riri becoming a mom again for the fourth time, others expressed disappointment as another pregnancy means a new album is once again on hold.

She recently opened up about dressing her post-baby body

In an interview with Rihanna published via X, formerly known as Twitter, the singer talked about some of her favorite looks from the Dior spring/summer show during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week.
However, it was her comment about her post-baby curves that many moms probably related to.
“My favorite look? That’s impossible,” Rihanna exclaimed of the creations. “I wanted the coats, I wanted the dresses, I wanted the skirts with a little belly [at the stomach] because I got a little pouch after having kids, so I would love that.
“I loved the accessories – the bags, the shoes, the earrings – everything was perfectly done, super well done, super fancy. Everything excited me. It was a very exciting show,” she added.
As she works on her own music, Rihanna supports her boyfriend A$AP Rocky with her

After releasing her new album “Don’t Be Dumb” on January 16, Rihanna showed her love to A$AP Rocky a few days later on January 25 when the album was confirmed to have reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
“Just me here to let you know that my baby daddy got ALBUM NUMBER 1!!! Aaahhhhhh hah! DON’T BE DUMB!!!” she wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
According to PEOPLE, Rocky is set to embark on a world tour to promote the album. The North American leg runs from May to July, and the European shows start in August and end in September.
