Kim Kardashian everything is for justice and equity when it comes to rewarding work!
“The KardashiansThe star lent her voice to a bill that would ensure firefighters who fought day and night to put out the destructive Pacific Palisades fire early last year would be properly compensated for their courageous service.
Kim Kardashian received her share of backlash last year, first for promoting a SKIMS sale in the midst of the wildfire crisis and then for demanding higher wages, which some critics said would make the issue political at such a sensitive time.
Kim Kardashian is on a personal mission with the legislative process

The business mogul fully supports the new bill introduced this week by Senator Cory Booker, which would ensure that firefighters working in prisons would receive a minimum wage. According to Kardashian, her interest in the case grew because she saw the prisoners dedicated themselves to fighting the Los Angeles fires last year.
The bill was reintroduced by the Democrat on Thursday, March 19, and would require working prisoners to earn minimum wage through amendments to the Fair Labor Standards Act. This bill will also eliminate outrageous deductions for fees, fines and the cost of living in prisons.
Kardashian explained why she joined the movement, stating that the firefighters she personally saw risking their lives to stop the spread showed so much bravery and courage, just like professional firefighters, but made less money. “In many cases, they are barred from even applying for firefighting jobs once they are released. This is not only unfair, it’s un-American,” the media personality said, as shared by PEOPLE.
SKIMS founder reached out to Gov. Gavin Newsom for a pay raise last year

As the fire raged deeper into the region, Kardashian went online and called for more recognition and higher pay for the heroes who braved the fiery furnace and helped families survive the loss and destruction. As noted by The Blast, the reality star took to Instagram to tag Governor Newsom about overhauling and increasing the salaries of those incarcerated people on the front lines of the rescue mission.
The mother of four said inmates worked grueling hours in harsh weather and living conditions, earning less than a dollar an hour, which was nothing compared to a disaster of this magnitude.
Nearly 1,000 inmates reportedly helped fight the wildfires, which they said had already burned more than 40,000 acres and killed about 16 people. However, no inmate firefighter lost their life while trying to save those affected.
Kim Kardashian angered critics for SKIMS promotion during fire

Before her plea, the 45-year-old was criticized for promoting a big sale for her SKIMS line as the fire broke out. Meredith Lynch was at the forefront of the criticism, accusing the entrepreneur on her Instagram of telling people to buy SKIMS while families and lives were being displaced and destroyed.
Lynch added that Kardashian could have used a platform as big as hers to provide resources and raise awareness about the fires, but she is determined to use it to sell her products. The fire also threatened Kardashian’s sprawling $70 million Malibu mansion, right on the ocean.
The property was previously owned by model Cindy Crawford and her husband, Rande Gerber. As for her Hidden Hills property, the star reportedly left her home, alongside the rest of her family, after receiving a mandatory evacuation order due to the fire’s rapid spread.
Fashion icon debunked emails asking victims for financial help

The star certainly had her hands full during such a difficult time in the city, as she took the time to warn netizens and fans about scammers using her name in emails for fake fundraisers. She explained that such a scam might claim to want to raise money to support affected families and wildfire victims, which she approved of.
She uploaded a sample photo of one of the many scam emails circulating with her name on it, warning her followers to check the links before donating to anyone. The Blast noted that the reality star also praised firefighters for staying up all night to help families affected by the fire and save the community.
The Los Angeles wildfires, which began last January, have consumed more than 40,000 acres of land in the southern part of Los Angeles, and more than 200,000 people have been evacuated as efforts were made to curb the spread. The fire affected the homes of celebrities like Mel Gibson, Paris Hilton, Anthony Hopkins, Tina Knowles, John Goodman, Candy Spelling, Milo Ventimiglia and Miles Teller, as well as 12,000 other structures.
Kim Kardashian’s sister appeals for donations amid fires

While the entrepreneur didn’t earn any good points for how she handled the aftermath of the outbreak, her younger sister, Khloé Kardashian, joined her more than 300,000 followers to make a difference in the midst of the crisis.
Khloé jumped online to speak out on behalf of victims and firefighters, noting that one of her neighbors was in direct contact with fire officials who told her that firefighters were desperate, hungry and tired.
The Good American founder also provided concrete ways to help victims, encouraging them to support their local fire stations by dropping off supplies like high-protein meals, Gatorade and coffee.
The mother of two attached her neighbor’s Venmo details to one of her messages, revealing that if anyone was interested in donating to them, they could proceed as they would be heading to Costco to pick up rotisserie chickens and sides to be delivered to multiple stations.
Will Kim Kardashian succeed and add it to her long list of advocacy successes?
