You don’t want to be the last person in your group to see Bigfoot – er, the Bigfoot emoji – who happens to be one of eight new icons In Apple iOS 26.4 update released this week.
But the iOS 26.4 update has more to offer than icons of distorted smiley faces, ballet dancers, and battle clouds. Apple has released a fix for the keyboard, which in Apple’s release notes is described as “improved keyboard accuracy when typing quickly.”

If you’re feeling frustrated about making typos on your iPhone, perhaps this update could improve things a little. (Or you know, there are always new ways to express frustration with the new emoji. A sad paperclip, perhaps?)
This week’s episode of One More Thing, embedded above, reviews a number of major changes in iOS 26.4including finding concerts in Apple Music and using AI to design playlists.
It’s hard to keep track of music artists coming to my area, but Apple Music now shows upcoming local concerts, and it’s not just popular musicians. I saw that Jimmy Eat World was performing in June, and clicking for tickets took me to a portal to connect to the Bandsintown service…and alas, the show was sold out. This allowed me to order tickets from resellers by increasing the price. I feel totally emo after that.
There’s also a feature called Playlist Playground, which uses AI to generate playlists based on a prompt you give it and music you tend to like.
I asked him to show me “some music to be mad about because I didn’t get tickets to see Jimmy Eat World,” and he came back with some emotionally charged emo anthems for Missing Jimmy Eat World. The playlist featured heroes from the early 2000s emo-rock era, such as Saves The Day, Taking Back Sunday, New Found Glory, Yellowcard and Something Corporate.
You can continue tweaking before saving. I had to tell him to add Jimmy Eat World to the playlist, funny enough. The program is in beta, but you don’t need to have a special Apple Intelligence-compatible iPhone to try it: the feature is available to everyone. Apple Music user, including Apple Music for Android.
Meanwhile, the Podcasts app also has a new feature to include a way to watch your favorite video versions of podcasts – if the show is set to switch between audio and video.
But even if that doesn’t excite you enough, sometimes it’s really simple fixes that make an iOS update worth it. There are new settings to manage the payment methods of adults in a family which uses shopping sharing. Accessibility settings improvements have been made to reduce lighting effects and animation for Liquid Glass.
There is also a new ambient music widget to enjoy meditative and calming music at any time. Like when you just need to relax in front of that Jimmy Eat World concert you didn’t know existed until you updated your phone. Sheesh.
