The Punchestown Festival 2026 schedule is starting to take shape, with spectators getting a clearer idea of the start times for one of Ireland’s biggest racing events.
The five-day festival, which runs from April 28 to May 2, will once again feature a packed program of high-profile National Hunt racing at Punchestown Racecourse.
Organizers are expected to stick to a familiar structure for race times throughout the week, with the first race typically taking place at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Friday – traditionally the busiest day of the festival – will feature a later start time, with the opening race scheduled for around 3:40 p.m. to accommodate increased attendance and demand.
Each day of racing is expected to feature between three and a half and four hours of live racing, providing fans with a full afternoon of action throughout the festival.
The Punchestown Festival remains one of the highlights of the Irish racing calendar, attracting huge crowds and featuring many of the best horses from the Cheltenham Festival and beyond.
