Goldie Hawn And Kurt Russell have been together for over four decades, but never married.
Today, the legendary actress says the secret to their longevity is simple: They’re “the right pair” for each other.
Goldie Hawn has also previously spoken about how she is still sexually attracted to Kurt Russell despite his age and highlighted the deep respect she has for him.
Actress says she and Kurt Russell are ‘the right match’
After meeting on the set of “Swing Shift” in 1983, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell began a relationship that has now spanned 43 years.
Unlike many long-running Hollywood romances, their story stands out for one reason: They stayed engaged without ever getting married.
Even though they don’t seem to have any plans to get married, they continue to be strong, which Hawn recently attributed to a key principle she shared while promoting her new children’s book..
“[We are] the right match,” Hawn said of her relationship with Russell, with whom she shares Wyatt Russell and co-parents three other children from their previous marriages to Bill Hudson and Season Hubley.
Following up on her remark, Hawn admitted that for most people in relationships, “things can get harder” as you get older, but staying positive can help you stay afloat.
“Your mindset matters. How you view life matters, how you value the moments in your life matters, because you feed your own brain,” the “Snatched” actress continued, according to People Magazine. “So I say, ‘Right now, everything is amazing.'”

Describing her relationship with her “Escape From New York” pal, Hawn says it comes with a lot of freedom.
“When I say freedom, it means liberation. I don’t feel confined,” the actress revealed.
“We don’t always agree on things, which is okay,” she said of her romance with Russell, noting that they were “both very spontaneous.”
“[Our relationship] nourished with a lot of goodness, a lot of wonderful life together,” Hawn added.

Hawn previously shared the same sentiments during an appearance on the “Dan Buettner Podcast,” adding that it helped ensure she stayed with him.
“I have a relationship with birds,” Hawn noted at the time. “I’m a bird. And if you leave the cage door open, I might never fly away. But if you close that door, for my freedom and independence, I would probably take off all my feathers.”
Further explaining freedom, Hawn asserted that it is the type of freedom that essentially involves “not blending in with anyone else, when you are copacetic in certain areas and you have freedom.”

While chatting with Buettner, Hawn opened up about the romantic side of her relationship with Russell.
She shared that despite the length of their relationship, her attraction to him has not faded and remains as strong as it was in the beginning.
“And that’s important. If you have a long-term sexual relationship, it’s actually very healthy. He’s my sex object,” the actress emphasized, adding, “I find him incredibly beautiful even to this day.”
Elsewhere, Hawn spoke of her deep respect for Russell, describing him as “an extraordinary person.” She also praised his natural ease with children, which she said was another endearing quality he possessed.
“The kids love him. We’re an incredibly happy family – most of the time… There’s a cohesiveness. Why would I want someone who’s perfect? There’s no such thing,” she shared.

In 2015, Hawn also hinted at why marriage wasn’t really part of her plans in her relationship with Russell.
“A lasting relationship is not about marriage. It’s about compatibility and communication,” the “Foul Play” actress told Porter Review.
She then went on to outline other key ingredients that she believes make a relationship work, citing intentionality as one of them, as well as the importance of each person retaining their individuality within romance.
“You both have to want it to work. If one person doesn’t want it to work, it won’t work. Intention is key,” she added.
“It’s also about not losing ourselves in each other. Being together, two pillars that hold up the house and the roof, and being different, not agreeing on everything, learning to deal with not agreeing. Everything is a choice,” Hawn also noted.
