Sydney Sweeney filmed a three-minute scene for the film “The devil wears Prada 2“, but it didn’t make the cut, which raised eyebrows as to why.
While reports previously claimed the scene simply wasn’t suitable for the film, sources close to the actress blame it on politics and “woke up” critics, especially after Sweeney revealed herself to be a registered Republican during the height of her American Eagle controversy.
Meanwhile, Sydney Sweeney returned to the third part of “Euphoria“, where she also received backlash following the character, Cassie’s, foray into creating adult content.
Why Sydney Sweeney’s scene was cut from ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’

Although she’s been Hollywood’s “it girl” for a few years, Sweeney still gets to experience the shears of film editors.
Speculation was rife suggesting that Sweeney would have a cameo in the highly anticipated “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” but recent reports suggest that his scene was left for editing, just days before the sequel’s May 1 release.
Sources close to the production said Weekly Entertainment that the decision to scrap his scene was a “creative decision”, but added that the film’s team was “grateful” for his participation.
However, according to Star Magazineanother source shared that those close to the actress blame “Hollywood wokesters” who have become extremely critical of Sweeney due to her perceived conservative views.
Others don’t think it’s because of his political views, with the source adding, “They put it down to old-fashioned jealousy” of Sweeney’s rising star.
Insiders claimed the actress’ scene ‘didn’t work structurally with the rest of the sequence’

The scene in question reportedly showed Sweeney playing an exaggerated version of herself as a celebrity client in the Dior offices, interacting with Emily Blunt’s character, Emily Charlton.
The cameo, which appeared early in the film, was intended to highlight Emily’s new status as a luxury executive, but director David Frankel and the editing team ultimately decided to remove it, with reports claiming that it did not work structurally with the rest of the film.
In trailers for the film, Anne Hathaway’s character Andy reunites with her former Runway colleagues Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) and Nigel Kipling (Stanley Tucci) to try to resurrect the fashion magazine amid a decline in traditional publishing and a scandal.
The trio would do anything to keep the brand afloat, including seeking funding from former show assistant Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt), now head of Dior’s U.S. operations.
Sydney Sweeney faced scrutiny for her American Eagle jean ad

Over the years, Sweeney has drawn backlash for her controversial statement in an American Eagle ad campaign, as many accused her of promoting white supremacy and eugenics rhetoric over a pun about “jeans/genes.”
In response to backlash at the time, she said People Magazine that she was “honestly surprised by the reaction”, before distancing herself from certain accusations.
“I did it because I love the jeans and the brand. I do not share the opinions that some people have chosen to link to the campaign. Many have attributed motivations and labels to me that are simply not true,” she added.
Actress sparked backlash for provocative scenes in ‘Euphoria’ season 3

Most recently, Sweeney returned to her hit HBO series “Euphoria” and continued to receive criticism after her character Cassie began creating adult content and making provocative gestures.
She recently attracted backlash over a scene in which she is dressed in a revealing dog costume and films videos presumably for social media. Sweeney’s character barked like a dog and also drank water on all fours.
The actress also dressed as a baby, wearing a pacifier, diaper and a sheer pink hoodie, sparking negative reactions from all sides.
Many called out series creator Sam Levinson over the scenes, and many asked if Sweeney had any say in the matter.
Sydney Sweeney’s boyfriend begged to give her space

Amid the growing backlash, Sweeney’s love life with Scooter Braun remains going strong as the couple has now gone Instagram official after months of dating.
However, the music executive raised eyebrows over how he allegedly made his life around the ‘Anyone But You’ actress, with sources close to him imploring him to stop being needy.
“When they’re together, Scooter seems so stressed, like he’s paranoid about getting dumped and hanging on for dear life,” a source close to Sweeney said. Star. “People say: give the girl some air so she can scream out loud!”
“He’s incredibly rich and doesn’t really need to work, so he only has time and money to devote to this relationship,” the source continued. “He works so hard to keep this going. He’s dedicated his entire life and his entire footprint in Hollywood to being by her side.”
In fact, the source added that it would be hard to see Sweeney end up with him even though he told everyone she was going to be his wife.
“He’s handsome and full of energy, but Sydney is one of the hottest stars in the world right now,” the source said.
