Drake Maye We got Vrabel back amid the Russini scandal … ‘We love Coach!!!’

New England Patriots franchise quarterback speaks out on Mike Vrabel — Drake Maye says the locker room is firmly ensconced in their coach’s corner in the middle of the Dianna Russini scandal.
The MVP finalist was asked about the Pats leader at a charity event Wednesday … and his answer is further proof that the entire organization is committed to moving forward with the 50-year-old Vrabel.

“We’re here for the coach,” Maye told 7News. Jonathan Hall. “We love the coach. What he does for us, what he did for us last year, you can’t say it in words.”
“I’m just grateful he’s our head coach. I know he does things off the field and the coaching world, but we’re here for him and I know he’s going to come back.”
The Patriots made it clear they wouldn’t go after Vrabel after his relationship with the NFL insider was made public…and that didn’t change when he sautéed on day three of the 2026 NFL Draft to ask for “advice.”
Vrabel said he’s focused on becoming a better man in the future…and from ownership to the front office and players — they all believe he can do just that.

They have to hope that they can eventually overcome all of this – New England had an incredible turnaround in 2025… going 14-3 and reaching the Super Bowl last season, with Maye, 23, thriving in his second season as a professional.

Vrabel also received a standing ovation Pats season ticket holders at an event Tuesday…so they don’t seem to mind the outside noise.
Vrabel and Maye’s success together actually earned them the title of Most Influential Bostonians this week by a local media outlet…which would have been a given before this month’s development.
