Are you still recovering from the mental whiplash from Nintendo’s surprise Star Fox Direct? I certainly am. The window revealing that Fox Star 64 East to be done again showed that Nintendo remains the king of getting people excited about something they collectively find unimpressive.
Although the original is a timeless classic, nothing about the remake showed why Star Fox for the Switch 2 will be essential for new players or loyal fans. This disappointment is offset by the irresistible desire to dissect the hyper-realistic new look of all the characters, including furry icon Fox McCloud. Is this really the most asexual version of Shigeru Miyamoto’s creation? Is this remake really a DLSS5 slopfest? Here’s what people are saying:

The icing on the cake of this Nintendo news cycle is that despite all the valid complaints and criticisms leveled at the company’s latest apparent cash grab, it will be hard to resist the urge to experience it. Fox Star 65 on Switch 2 while Game Chat avatars lip sync during 4v4 dogfights.
Nintendo is also reportedly shipping at least one more N64-era remake this year: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. If it’s another DLSS 5 glow, I’m going to go wild…and buy the game anyway.
