A California teenager won the 2026 Scripps National Spelling Bee, after three days of competition at Constitution Hall in Washington.
Shrey Parikh faced 12-year-old Ishaan Gupta in the final round. The two men had to spell as many words as possible in 90 seconds.
Shrey spelled 32 words correctly in the allotted time, with “cashaw”, a type of pumpkin, declaring his winning word.
