Austin Metcalf’s father reveals Karmelo Anthony’s racist nickname ‘Felon watermelon’

Austin Metcalf‘s father uses a racial stereotype to invent a shocking new nickname for his son’s killer…referencing Carmelo Anthony as a “watermelon criminal” in a hate-filled music video.
Jeff Metcalf appeared on Sarah Fields‘JinxedSip’ podcast… where he tore apart a number of key figures in the Karmelo murder trial. It was his first opportunity to speak out after a Texas judge lifted his silence on the case.
The gag is lifted. And the mask came off with it.
After the sentencing, Austin Metcalf’s father, Jeff Metcalf, went live on TikTok and got caught up in a racist rant about Karmelo Anthony, including calling him a “watermelon criminal,” saying black people get “all the free shit we give out… pic.twitter.com/z7zmyuyiz1 @LeeMerrittesq
Jeff said he wanted to “invent something racist so y’all can go viral”, then revealed his new nickname for Karmelo… “the watermelon criminal”… smiling at the camera after throwing out the racist term.
Afterwards, Austin’s father then claims that he has forgiven Karmelo… although it’s hard to say how genuine that is given his vitriolic statement moments before.
During his lengthy tirade, Jeff also said that black people in America play the role of victims when talking about oppression…and he called out a Karmelo supporter, saying, “You’re the only one in your family who doesn’t have a criminal record. I guess that’s something to brag about in your culture.”
Some podcast viewers say Jeff is showing his true colors here…believing the three-hour conversation proves this case was actually about race, despite Jeff claiming otherwise in court during his victim impact statement.
As you know…a jury found Karmelo guilty of murder earlier this week and sentenced him to 35 years in prison.
Karmelo’s family insists he was not looking for a fight and only acted in self-defense during the fateful April 2025 athletics meet during which he fatally stabbed Austin.
