Claude Guillemot, co-founder of French video game The giant Ubisoft died Friday in a plane crash in La Baule, the company confirmed to FOX Business.
Guillemot, 69, was one of two people aboard a twin-engine Cessna 421 plane who both died in the wreck, according to a report from the local newspaper Ouest-France.
The French town on the Atlantic coast had planned a air show during the weekend, depending on the point of sale.

In a statement to FOX Business on Saturday, Ubisoft said it was “deeply saddened to learn of the death of Claude Guillemot, co-founder of the Group and president of Guillemot Corporation, in an accident.”
According to the Ubisoft website, Guillemot and his four other brothers founded Ubisoft in 1986.
Guillemot worked behind the scenes and played a central role in advancing the early mail order software industry, Reuters reported.

One of Guillemot’s brothers, Yves, is CEO of gaming center.
Under Yves’ continued leadership for more than 30 years, the brothers’ initial strategy of nurturing in-house talent and developing original brands led to the company’s success amid technological disruption and industry transformation, according to Ubisoft website.

“Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time,” the company told FOX Business.

Ubisoft said no further statements would be released at this time.
