President Trump Finally pays $5.6 million to E. Jean Carroll after years of fighting

E. Jean Carroll is finally paid… more than three years after a jury ruled President Trump responsible for sexually assaulting and defaming her.
Carroll officially received $5.62 million, including interest, from Trump after the U.S. Supreme Court ruling. denied hear Trump’s call — open the way for the money, which was in a court-controlled account, to be released.

Roberta KaplanCarroll’s attorney, told TMZ… “Three years ago, a unanimous jury of nine found President Trump liable for sexual assault and defamation against E. Jean Carroll. Today, we are pleased to announce that she has received the damages the jury awarded her as a result of that verdict.”
SCOTUS declined to respond to Trump’s appeal on June 29, leaving intact the 2023 civil verdict that awarded Carroll $5 million. With interest added during the lengthy legal battle, the final payment came to $5.62 million.

The case stems from Carroll’s allegation that Trump sexually assaulted her in a dressing room in the mid-1990s after the two crossed paths while shopping. A federal jury unanimously found Trump responsible for sexual abuse and defamation, but not responsible for rape under New York’s legal definition.
Although this chapter is now closed financially, the legal battle is not over. Trump still appeals separate 2024 jury verdict order him to pay Carroll approximately $83 million for additional defamatory statements he made about her after she first came forward with her allegations.
