Cyberpunk 2077 fans have been confused this week about the release date of his second Fortnite The DLC came and went quietly without any new content. The first wave of CyberpunkIt is Fortnite crossing was released in December 2025, bringing new cosmetics based on V, Johnny Silverhand, and the Arasaka Company to the Battle Royale game.
Fortnite has repeatedly teased a second wave of Cyberpunk content, which many fans believe will include skins based on antagonist Adam Smasher. However, the rumored March 24 release date has passed, leaving many players wondering if the DLC was quietly canceled amid challenges from developer Epic Games.
Where is Cyberpunk 2077’s second Fortnite DLC?
Delayed? Canceled? Affected by layoffs?
Although no official release date has been confirmed by Epic, many fans have been waiting for the second wave of the game. Cyberpunk the cosmetics will go live on March 24, based on alleged leaks that also seemed to confirm the existence of an Adam Smasher skin. However, the 24th came and went, and Epic isn’t sure when to expect the collaboration.
It’s certainly possible that the leaks simply got the release date wrong or weren’t accurate to begin with. Epic has never revealed an official release date for wave 2 of the Cyberpunk collaboration; the only official announcement they made about it was a simple teaser, released on March 6, without a date or details.
However, it is also possible that the collaboration was delayed by the recent layoffs at Epic Gameswhich affected more than 1,000 jobs and led to the permanent closure of three Fortnite game modes. While we don’t know exactly which positions were affected by the layoffs, it’s certainly possible that those responsible for putting the finishing touches on the project Cyberpunk collaboration was part of it.
Of course, it is also entirely possible that the Cyberpunk the collaboration has been quietly delayed for reasons unknown to us. Again, Epic never announced an official date, so it’s hard to know what really happened here, but fans are angry nonetheless.
Cyberpunk 2077 fans are confused
“Did they seriously cancel wave 2?”
A Reddit message from user Successful-Tower2066 questions the fate of Cyberpunk crossover and skin from Adam Smasher, asking: “It was supposed to come out two days ago and there hasn’t even been a mention of it… I heard they dropped it. Is that true?”
Many commenters naturally assumed the “delay” was related to layoffs at Epic. “They probably fired the person who was supposed to decrypt it,” suggested Teddyp_14.
Some are taking a humorous view of the situation, joking that Smasher was “fired” along with thousands of other Epic employees last week. HighStakesJoni commented: “This was probably delayed because putting in a character who is the epitome of ruthless corporate greed after blatant ruthless corporate greed is probably just not cool.”
Others were more optimistic, suggesting that Epic could have delayed the release in order to get more skins for the Cyberpunk collaboration – not just Adam Smasher. Fans are calling for the default male protagonist, as well as characters like Judy Alvarez, Panam PalmerRogue Amendiares, Kerry Eurodyne and Jackie Welles to come to Battle Royale as part of the crossover.
Either way, it’s impossible to say for sure if the second wave is still coming, as Epic has never confirmed anything beyond the original trailer. We will simply have to wait to have more news on the Cyberpunk 2077 work together to find out what really happened.
