Utah prosecutors have declined to file charges in connection with domestic violence allegations against “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star Taylor Frankie Paul.
The Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office said it declined to charge Paul due to lack of evidence. She was under investigation for domestic violence allegations against ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensensaid the police.
In a statement, the prosecutor’s office said some of the “minor offenses” occurred more than two years ago and were barred by the statute of limitations.
More recent incidents not barred by the statute of limitations are not considered crimes, and others lack evidence, he added.
“The remaining incidents lack sufficient evidence to warrant filing criminal charges while the State must be able to prove such allegations beyond a reasonable date,” the office said. “Such incidents lack precision as to when and what actually happened, and lack corroboration.”
Paul made similar allegations of domestic violence against Mortensen, and both have been the subject of at least two domestic violence investigations in Utah, authorities said.

A spokesperson for the Draper Police Department confirmed last month that there had been a open a domestic violence investigation into a 2024 incident involving the twowith allegations on both sides.
Representatives for Paul did not immediately respond to a request for comment Tuesday. Mortensen did not immediately respond to a request for comment left on his voicemail.
Mortensen and Paul also filed temporary protective orders against each other, according to court records. Paul has three children, one of whom she shares with Mortensen.
“The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” premiered in 2024 and depicted the couple’s on-and-off relationship.
According to court records, Paul took a pending guilty plea to an aggravated assault charge related to his 2023 arrest, while four other charges were dismissed. Body camera video of the arrest was shown in the first episode of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.”
Mortensen also made allegations of domestic violence against Paul related to incidents that occurred in 2024 and May 2025, police said. In February this year, both called the police and filed new allegations of domestic violence against each other.
The couple’s controversial relationship affected the series and its filming, which was halted last month amid new domestic violence investigations against Paul. Cast members told ABC executives during a meeting in March that they were worried about continuing the series if Paul remained involved.
She was set to appear on a new season of “The Bachelorette,” but executives canceled the season after a video of an incident in 2023 was leaked, it went viral. Mortensen will be published from the next season of “Vanderpump Villa”, a source close to the show told NBC News.
