Britney Spears‘ The sons sparked controversy over their decision to move into their mother’s house.
Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, allegedly moved in while the singer was in rehab and acted like they owned the place.
Although it’s unclear whether Britney Spears gave them permission or whether they did it of their own accord, the optics of it all were poorly received by observers.
Britney Spears’ sons act like they own their house

Britney Spears’ strained relationship with her children is well-documented, including how they moved to Hawaii with their father, Kevin Federline, in 2023 amid their problems.
While Spears is now in rehab, her sons have moved back into her Los Angeles mansion, a move that is now raising eyebrows, particularly due to their behavior at the residence.
“The boys didn’t feel comfortable — there was no transition period, no testing the waters. They moved right into the mansion like it was already theirs,” a source told Rob Shuter’s “Naughty But Nice” of Spears’ sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.
According to the source, young adults are taking advantage of every advantage available and doing so in a way that is blatantly obvious to observers.
“We’re talking about living rent-free on a huge estate, driving her expensive cars, coming and going as she pleases, enjoying all the perks that come with being Britney Spears’ son – it’s not exactly subtle,” the source continued.
The actions of the singer’s sons raised eyebrows

The optics of it all don’t seem to have rubbed off on observers, especially those who sympathize with Spears’ current rehab situation.
“While their mother is away seeking help and trying to turn her life around, it seems like someone else is living very comfortably under her roof – and people are noticing,” a source told the reporter.
It didn’t help that previous reports revealed that it was Spears’ sons who pushed their mother into rehab.
While at the time it was believed that his sons were concerned about his well-being, it is not speculated that they hoped to take advantage of his absence.
“It was their idea for Britney to go to rehab,” says a source. “They insisted that it be done, they said it was what she needed… and now when you look at the situation, you can’t help but wonder about how this all played out.”
Britney Spears checked herself into rehab earlier this month

News of Spears entering rehab was confirmed on Sunday, April 12, and the decision was described as a voluntary action on the singer’s part, according to People Magazine.
This happened five weeks after he was arrested in Ventura, California, for driving under the influence of drugs.
“Britney will take the right steps and comply with the law, and I hope this can be the first step in a long-awaited change that needs to happen in Britney’s life. Let’s hope she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time,” her rep’s statement at the time read.
Singer’s sons will ‘spend time with her’ while she is in rehab

While it’s unclear whether Spears’ sons have visited her since she entered rehab, her rep’s statement suggests they would do so regularly.
“Her boys will spend time with her,” the singer’s spokesperson said in his statement.
“Her loved ones will develop a plan necessary to prepare her for wellness success,” added the spokesperson, who did not reveal the location of Spears’ treatment center.
Britney Spears has sparked concerns over her erratic behavior in recent years

Spears’ arrest for drunk driving appears to be the breaking point after a string of erratic behavior she has exhibited since her release from her conservatorship.
Much of this behavior manifested itself on social media, including posting near-nude images and dancing with knives.
There were also public incidents, such as leaving a restaurant with a glass of wine and getting into a fight with her then-boyfriend Paul Richard Soliz.
All this and more apparently prompted Spears’ ex-husband to call for urgent intervention for the singer in his memoir last year.
“It has become impossible to pretend that everything is fine. From where I sit, time is running out and we are approaching the eleventh hour,” Federline writes in the book. “Something bad is going to happen if things don’t change, and my biggest fear is that our sons will be left holding the pieces.” »
