As fans await Netflix’s highly anticipated romantic comedy on June 5, an insider opened up about the buzz generated by Lopez and Goldstein’s chemistry.
Spilling the truth about the co-stars’ relationship, the source said: “Her loving energy with Brett is genuine. She really loves him.” However, that doesn’t mean a relationship is in the offing for the “On The Floor” singer, who is “in a great situation alone right now.”
According to the insider, Lopez’s priority remains her family and career, as she enjoys her life as it is. It’s also a delicate moment for the actress whose twins, Emme and Max, are heading off to college soon.
“She’s looking forward to taking a special trip with the kids before they leave for school. It’s an emotional time for her, but she’s incredibly proud of them,” the source told People Magazine.
Lopez opened up about her “chemistry” with co-star Brett
It’s no surprise that Lopez and Goldstein’s relationship attracts so much attention, as the actress herself has spoken about it.
Earlier this month, at the Netflix Upfront event, the 56-year-old revealed that she had always been attracted to her co-star from the beginning. “We had great chemistry to begin with. It grew as we made the film together,” she explained.
Lopez also praised Goldstein, noting that she was a “huge fan” after seeing him in “Ted Lasso.” However, the English actor was not at all what she expected.
According to her, she had anticipated that the 45-year-old would be as brash as his character on the show, but that was far from the case. “You get this person who is kind, sweet but also very intelligent and so charming,” the Latina star shared with People Magazine.

During the event, Goldstein also revealed that when he wrote the script alongside Joe Kelly, he couldn’t stop thinking about Lopez, describing her as “the best romantic comedy star.”
The actor noted that it was easy to create the story around the New York native, so he focused on creating a storyline worthy of the star. Fortunately, she loved the script.
“Office Romance” tells the story of a CEO of a top company who falls in love with his recently hired employee and they have an affair. However, at some point, they decide to stop playing by their rules and follow their passion.
Is this a real connection or a publicity stunt?
While the connection between Lopez and Goldstein seems convincing, behind-the-scenes sources say things are not what they seem.
As The Blast previously reported, an insider explained that the actors were only hyping dating rumors for the film and, in particular, for Goldstein’s burgeoning career.
“Brett is a star, but he’s not a leading man that everyone knows and cares about,” the source explained. “This movie he’s doing with Jen, it’s her job to make it, and she takes this role to heart.”
