Taylor Swift and her fiancé, Travis Kelcewould get married at Madison Square Garden in early July, nearly a year after their engagement.
Although the couple has yet to officially confirm information regarding their wedding venue, business owners in the area are already reportedly dreading the day and what an event of this magnitude could mean for them.
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift recently got tongues wagging after making an appearance at MSG for the NBA Finals, where the Knicks scored a historic 29-point victory over the Spurs.
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s Upcoming MSG Wedding Has Business Owners Worried

Swift and Kelce’s upcoming nuptials are sure to be the talk of July, when the couple is expected to tie the knot in New York.
However, according to TMZsome business owners around Madison Square Garden aren’t too excited about the news of such an anticipated ceremony taking place in the area.
The frustration among establishments, primarily restaurants and bars, appears to stem from the lack of information about the event, particularly regarding security issues that could arise due to the wedding.
Some business owners who spoke with the outlet said the event could be a “disaster” for them if it were anything like the recent lockdown New Yorkers experienced during President Donald Trump’s attendance at the Knicks game on July 3.
News of the couple’s MSG marriage has angered business owners and some are even seeking compensation

More business owners have expressed frustration about the upcoming nuptials, with one West 31st Street small business owner saying he didn’t expect Swifties, fans of the pop star, to frequent him on the wedding day, unlike regular NBA fans who tend to flock to his house for games, despite tight security.
Another business owner, on West 33rd Street, admitted that the MSG wedding rumors had made him “super irritated” because many people would likely avoid the area during what would be a holiday weekend during the ongoing World Cup.
This particular person then suggested that Swift and Kelce should compensate business owners around the garden, due to any inconvenience that may arise following their wedding ceremony.
Another small business owner, in conversation with TMZjoked that Swift and Kelce should consider getting married somewhere other than MSG.
Unfortunately, such a move this close to the wedding is likely impossible, as Swift reportedly rented out the garden for three days, paying the venue’s retail price, which typically costs around $1 million per night.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s MSG Wedding Venue Could Be a ‘Distraction,’ Sources Say

While some major media outlets are certain that Swift will marry Kelce at MSG on July 3, a new report claims the venue leak is part of a plot to distract people from the more intimate, smaller ceremony that will take place away from the 20,000-seat arena.
According to sources who spoke to Daily MailSwift and Kelce’s wedding probably won’t take place in the garden, but the venue would still play a major role in their planned celebrations.
“Taylor’s official wedding won’t have 1,000 guests,” a source told the outlet. “A private, highly secure ceremony is planned for his closest family and friends.”
They continued: “Guests at the big party have been encouraged to make donations to charity, but her actual wedding will be a small, intimate gathering. There’s something [else] associated with MSG.
Top-notch “security check” of wedding guests at MSG

Another source said Swift and Kelce’s guests would arrive at Madison Square Garden for the ceremony before being taken elsewhere after a security check.
“QR codes will be sent to guests,” said the second source. “The only instructions they have are to arrive at MSG on July 3. The codes are not distributed yet.”
“Many guests think this may be a security check for [then] go elsewhere because MSG is equipped for that with its facial recognition etc. But something involving the wedding is happening there,” the source added, hinting that the venue would serve a greater purpose.
The strict security measures come as no surprise, since Swift herself has reportedly ditched sending traditional save-the-date invitations in hopes of keeping her wedding plans as secret as possible.
The singer would have instead called her loved ones to inform them of their big day, while refusing the precise location of the wedding.
Taylor Swift made a notable appearance at MSG for the New York Knicks

Aside from all the wedding planning, Swift made a surprise appearance at Madison Square Garden for the NBA Finals.
The singer, who was notably accompanied by friends and without a fiancé in sight, as usual caused a sensation by encouraging the New York Knicks during their face-to-face against the San Antonio Spurs.
Swift wore a blue top that read “Stevie Knicks,” a nod to rock music legend Stevie Nicks, with her longtime pals Alana and Este Haim matching her energy by wearing equally puny shirts with the words “Knickleback” and “Knickole Kidman” written in bold letters across them.
While Kelce was away, reportedly due to a commitment he had with his NFL team, the Kansas City Chiefs, the football star made up for it by supporting his fiancée at her Songwriters Hall of Fame induction event in New York.
