It’s a pretty exciting time to be a Dragon Ball fan, with one thing and another. Between the upcoming release of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3and the explosive final has Xenoverse 2, there’s tons of stuff happening. Indeed, Xenoverse 3 takes us to a whole new era for a whole new story set in the age of 1000 years. Before that, though, you might want to go back to the beginning for a little history lesson.
If you are a Dragon Ball Z fan, you probably know Dragon Ball Z: Scratch. The 2020 open-world RPG is actually a fan’s dream come true, allowing players to take control of Goku and relive the greatest moments of the original anime. You can explore a huge world, face enemies like Majin Buu, Kid Buu, Frieza, Cell and discover familiar locations like Orange City, Lucca Village and Master Roshi’s house.
“Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is a third-person action RPG from the developer of the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm series”, reads an official teaser for the game. “Take control of the legendary hero Son Goku (or “Kakarot” to give him his real name) in a massive free-roaming adventure that pits you against some of the series’ most dastardly villains. Team up with a myriad of familiar faces from the anime series as you explore, level up, complete side quests, learn powerful new techniques, and unlock your true Saiyan abilities.
If for some reason you’ve never tried it, the game is currently on sale on Steam as part of the Summer sales which runs until July 10. You can get the game for 25% off right now, and I’d say $14.99 is a pretty good price for the amount of game you’re getting here.
If you’re not entirely convinced, you can also get your hands on a free demo. The demo, available via Steam and consoles, gives you access to the first hours of the game. You can get a good feel for the combat and the game world, and find yourself stuck in a boss fight against Raditz. If you’re not convinced after playing the demo, this is clearly not the game for you.
If you have already played Dragon Ball Z: Scratch to death, you can always hope Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3a game that promises to balance a new story with a few familiar faces.
