Next time President Donald Trump flies to Mar-a-Lago, he will land at an airport named after him. And if his motorcade ever passes along I-40 in East Tennessee, he’ll see a bridge named after him.

Airport officials announced that Palm Beach International Airport has been officially renamed President Donald J. Trump International Airport. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill in March, a law to change the name of the airport.

“From this day on, every motorist who crosses this bridge will see that it bears his name, because he never stopped fighting for the people who use it because he took up their cause,” Bessent said.

Renaming the airport will cost at least $5.5 million, according to its websiteand it will include updates to signage, branding and other materials in the coming weeks.

“Because a complete airport transformation doesn’t happen overnight, you’ll notice a combination of our classic look and new brand elements coexisting as you travel through the terminal over the coming weeks,” the post adds.
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in February approved the Trump family’s request to trademark the new name on June 18, according to the office. The airport’s website says it has reached an agreement with the Trump family on the brand.
Trump Force One, the private jet Trump used in his campaign, was the first plane to land at the airport at 5:01 a.m. ET after his official name change, Eric Trump, one of the president’s sons, written the.
“No one has done more for Florida and our country, and no one more deserves this incredible honor,” he wrote. “As a son and someone who flies out of this airport almost every day, I will always be proud to see the initials “DJT” on my boarding pass.”
Although the airport has officially changed its name, the three-letter airport code will remain “PBI” until it changes to “DJT” on Aug. 18, airport officials announced Thursday.
