Tate Brothers ‘100%’ fighting extradition to UK, says lawyer

Andrew And Tristan Tate are bracing for a major legal battle… because their lawyer says they are “100%” fighting extradition to the UK.

Lawyer Joseph McBride tells TMZ…fighting extradition is a high bar, but he will argue that there are special circumstances why the brothers should not be sent back. He says they pose no flight risk, pointing to what he calls their full compliance with the courts over the past three years. According to McBride, they did not miss any court dates during their Romanian human trafficking case or defamation case in Palm Beach.

McBride says the brothers were “surprised” when plainclothes U.S. Marshals wearing vests and badges approached them during Saturday’s arrest and ordered them to put their hands behind their backs.

He says it “doesn’t feel good” for the brothers, who jet-set and hung out with models on yachts, to suddenly find themselves in what he describes as a “smelly prison.” McBride says they spent Sunday in solitary confinement, calling it “cruel and unusual punishment,” although he says U.S. Marshals told him they would be moved to general population.

The Tate brothers were arrested in Miami after the execution by US Marshals of a British man extradition warrant seeking to send them back across the Atlantic, where prosecutors have accused them of rape, human trafficking and other alleged sex crimes. The brothers have repeatedly denied all allegations.

McBride calls the British case politically motivated, saying the brothers are American citizens with the First Amendment right to “say what they want and not go to jail.” He claims that the UK authorities are “abusing the justice system, politically kidnapping them and putting them in an English gulag”.

McBride says the brothers knew they wouldn’t come out at Monday’s hearing and are now “preparing for a significant fight.”
