Sophie Turner’s new crime thriller series, Flydebuts with a solid Rotten Tomatoes score. In the Prime Video show, the Game of Thrones The star plays Zara Dunne, an office worker who unexpectedly finds herself at the center of a massive heist. The cast also includes Archie Madekwe as Zara’s friend and colleague Luke, and Jacob Fortune-Lloyd as DCI Rhys Covac, who investigates what really happened.
NOW, Fly debuted with an 80% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes. This initial rating is based on five reviews, four of which are “Fresh”. The overall average will likely fluctuate as more reviews are added and after all six episodes arrive on Prime Video on January 21.

The only “rotten” review so far, which comes from Richard Roeper of RogerEbert.comalso salutes Turner’s “outstanding” performance and for Zara being “an undeniably complex and empathetic character.” The problem is posed by the many genre tropes that are relied upon, “the collective lack of dark charisma within this heist team, “ and that if a season 2 arrives, “Give Zara a better adventure.”
Turner and Madekwe have previously spoken with ScreenRant about how the creative decision to have a large portion of the series take place after the heist comes about. Madekwe explained how Fly “It turns the formula upside down.” as Turner agreed that “It’s so refreshing to see the aftermath.”
