Democratic Congressman Al Green thinks peaceful protests still matter…especially when it comes to the president Donald Trump and his inflammatory language and conduct.
Green, Texas State Representative, makes headlines last night, when he brandished a message “Black people are not monkeys!” sign at the State of the Union address…and he explained to TMZ the importance of an IRL reprimand.

You see… Green was sure that Trump had heard about or read some of the negative reactions from his racist message representative Barack And Michelle Obama like monkeys, but Green didn’t believe Trump had been confronted. And according to Green, asking someone to call you directly to your face is a whole different story.
Green says that as Trump walked toward the aisle, Green — who had intentionally gotten himself a seat near the aisle — told Trump, “Black people are not monkeys.”

According to Green, Trump immediately took a step forward to “disengage.” Then Green moved on to plan B, which involved holding up the sign reading “Black people are not monkeys!” » This apparently is what got him kicked out of the room.
As for the sanctions imposed for his protest… Green doesn’t think that would be enforceable. According to him, MAGA members wore hats with signs to spread their message, so what’s the difference?
This is the second year in a row that Green has been excluded from a Trump speech to Congress… last year, Trump had just called his 2024 victory a “mandate” when Green stood up and shouted“You have no mandate to eliminate Medicaid.” The Speaker of the House ordered Green removed from the chamber.
