Apple’s next Worldwide Developers Conference will be held June 8-12 online and at its headquarters in Cupertino, California. announced Monday.
The iPhone maker said this year’s conference – where it typically announces new software and features for its line of devices – will focus on “advancements in AI” as well as updates for platforms like iOS, macOS, tvOS and watchOS, as well as new software and developer tools.
The conference will be broadcast live on the Apple Developer App, Apple’s websiteand the Apple developer YouTube channel. In China, the conference will be streamed on the Apple Developer Bilibili channel.
Last year, Apple focused WWDC on the design of its “Liquid Glass” interface, with AI largely ignored. This conference will probably be different. Apple was expected to launch a new Siri with advanced AI capabilities, and earlier this year signed a deal with Google to use Gemini to power AI features on its platform. This year’s WWDC could finally show Siri revamped with better personal context and on-screen visibility.
At last year’s conference, the company announced Apple Base Model Framework with AI models that could work offline and could announce breakthroughs at this year’s event. The company had also brought models like ChatGPT to code to Xcode. Earlier this year, Apple introduced agent coding tools such as Claude Agent from Anthropic and Codex from OpenAI to Xcode.
