2023 Election: Catch and Prosecute INEC Office Arsonist - Osun IPAC Blames Security Agencies

The Osun State Branch of the Inter-Party Consultative Council has described as barbaric the burning of the Independent National Electoral Commission office of the South Ede Local Government of Osun State by suspected thugs.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday morning when unidentified people attacked the building and set part of it on fire.

In a message personally signed by the Chairman of the Council, Mr. Wale Adebayo, on Thursday in Osogbo, capital of Osun State, he urged security agencies to bring the perpetrators of this despicable act to justice.

"The burning of such an institution in the run-up to general elections is shocking, uncivilized and barbaric," Adebayo said.

He added that with 106 days until the general election, it is primitive and disturbing that such unpleasant incidents have reared their ugly heads.

The president instructed the police and other law enforcement agencies to work diligently to untangle the perpetrators of this act, just as he warned political parties to play by the rules of the game.
