Election 2023: INEC begins distribution of sensitive documents

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Wednesday distributed sensitive documents to its offices in the 18 Local Government Areas of Ondo State, ahead of Saturday's elections.

NAN said the distribution took place at the premises of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Akure, in the presence of security guards.

The Acting Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the state, Mr. Oyekola Oyelami, said the distribution was part of the process for the upcoming general elections in the state.

Oyelami, who said the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) devices were also distributed, explained that the materials would be escorted to the various local administrations by security officers.

According to him, the commission has enough fuel and vehicles to transport materials to communal areas in the state.

"All documents, including score sheets, have been received and assembled according to local governments. We have enough fuel and vehicles to transport materials to all 18 local government areas in the state. At As we speak, our election workers are at the local government headquarters to receive the materials. So far so good, we are ready to go ahead with the elections on February 25,” he said. .

The Chairman of the State's Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC), Prince Adesanya Olaoluwa, praised INEC for the distribution process, saying it showed the commission's seriousness towards the election.
