Election 2023: Twist as PDP candidate Nnamani campaigns for Tinubu presidency

The 2023 general election race took a turn on Friday as a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate in Enugu, Chimaroke Nnamani, opened an official campaign for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He described Tinubu as the most successful of the 36 governors who served between 1999 and 2007. Nnamani was the Governor of Enugu State during this period.

In an interview in Abuja, Nnamani, who represents the senatorial candidate of Enugu East on the PDP platform and holds the PDP's 2023 senatorial ticket to seek re-election, said that Tinubu remains the system builder on more efficient since 1999. -Class of 2007 Governors.

He noted that the 1999 gubernatorial class struggled at first because "most of us inherited a state in which all sectors were in poor condition as a result of several years of military rule. All we had was pure joy in the hearts of our constituents because they had a democratically elected governor.

"From health to education to economy to security, Lagos State and many other states were in turmoil following years of military rule, but Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made the most progress among us all in reforms in various sectors, followed by Enugu State.

“This significant progress is due to the fact that Tinubu was able to bring together the best minds in Lagos State to examine each sector of the Lagos economy and provide a workable solution to its unique challenges,” Nnamani noted.

In the education sector under Tinubu, Nnamani pointed out that "they found that out of the 7,877 classrooms available, 5,908 were in need of renovation", adding that "With 682,000 students, the 7,877 classrooms were insufficient due to the UNESCO standard of 1:25 students per class".

The former governor of Enugu said the Tinubu-led administration was responsible for determining how to add 5,768 more classrooms to the existing ones, saying he had met the challenges by erecting new elementary schools, Secondary and Higher Education in Lagos between 1999 and 2007 to address this issue.

The Tinubu-led government, according to Nnamani, has embarked on human capital development to ensure that students receive the best possible education with a series of training and staff development programs in various courses, seminars and workshops.

"Many principals were sponsored to Cape Town, Nairobi and Auckland between 1999 and 2007, adding that "in total more than 100 instructors were trained in Nigeria and other African countries French speakers. Supply of computer systems for the ministry, SUBEB, TEPO and six school districts. »

He said the Asiwaju-led government had also had an effect on the higher education institution as a backlog of over 25,000 postgraduate degrees, diplomas and certificates had been cleared, adding that the Lagos State University had also implemented online course registration, fee processing and verification of results.

"Lagos State University College of Medicine was founded by Tinubu to provide top-notch medical education and facilitated accreditation in 2005, resulting in the first class of doctors graduating in 2006 ."

He argued that Tinubu will replicate the successes of Lagos across the country and has the ability to revamp the economy and make Nigeria work for all.
