2023: Group disapproves of Jang's removal from Atiku's campaign board

A group known as the "Plateau for the Atiku Movement" has frowned on the removal of former state governor Senator Jonah Jang from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, the council campaign by Abubakar Atiku.

The group, in a statement released at the end of the meeting in Jos signed by Ambassador Yahaya Kwande and Professor Shedrach Best, respectively, stressed that the withdrawal did not represent the views of the PDP and its supporters in Plateau State,< /p>

He urged Senator Jang to publicly withdraw his stand for unity, progress and victory for the presidential candidate.

The statement reaffirmed its support for the PDP presidential flag bearer, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, and his running mate, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

Speaking to reporters, the group's secretary, Prof. Shedrach Best, expressed his optimism that the Atiku would comfortably win in Plateau State in 2023, saying that the PDP had never lost presidential election in the state, adding that the party would offer a plateau for him without sweating too much in 2023.

"Our party has been in existence since 1999 and has won elections since then. The people of the state are with the PDP and we are ready to go. Baba Kwande is a father to us and he has experience. He is a rallying point for all of us, and that is what we need,” he added.

Best further stated, "As you all know, we are here to deliberate and unite the party to work for our party's victory in the upcoming presidential and gubernatorial elections." We want to go to the elections as a united party and we need a father figure, a seasoned statesman in the person of our host, Ambassador Yahaya Kwande. ”
