Guber Poll 2023: November 11 marks the end of insecurity, hardship and deception in Imo - Anyanwu

Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu has unequivocally stated that 11 November 2023 will mark the end of the lingering insecurity, hardship and deception in Imo State when the PDP takes over the affairs of the state, assuring that no intimidation, violence or murder will ever disturb the victory.

Anyanwu gave assurances in Oguta and Oru West Local Government Areas respectively during his LGA Appreciation Tour this weekend. The party candidate further contended that since the APC failed to restore peace and end the panic in the state, no genuine IMO person would ever vote for them.

According to him, the people of the state have been unduly treated, starved, humiliated, harassed and intimidated by the APC government, claiming that due to God's love for the state, 11 November has been set aside as the right season to liberate the state.

He said it would be a bad idea for any citizen of Imo to fall behind the project to protect Imo State from the stranglehold of anguish and scarcity caused by insecurity, adding that no individual, no matter how high up, would ever overthrow the mandate of the people.

Anyanwu regretted that the APC-led administration had lost its leadership and also lacked the necessary strategy to stem the threat that sent Imo State into a coma.

"I did not come to be your governor to destroy you, steal our taxpayers' money, or enrich myself or a few people, but I offered myself as a sacrificial lamb to restore peace, sanity, improve the economy, secure freedom of speech and movement for the less privileged and oppressed"

“I have come to seek your true partnership which will help us bring back the integrity, hospitality, friendliness, peace, unity and cooperation lost in our State. It is painful to see how innocent young people are treated daily by those to whom we have entrusted our mandate, if we let this opportunity to secure our State slip away from us, it will take us many years to recover from the damage that the error will cause us”

“You may recall that when the PDP was in power there was peace, money flowed, businesses flourished, food prices in the state were affordable, there were no killings by state and non-state actors, Imo was rated as the cleanest and safest state in Nigeria. Our children have won several awards, Imo took first place in JAMB, WAEC and produced the most number of first class graduates; but today Imo cannot boast of having even number 10, everyone is currently devastated and angry with no hope of survival possible. However, under my leadership as governor, Oguta and Oru West will regain their lost dignity. Under me, no one will use Lake Oguta for politics again. he declared.

Anyanwu therefore appealed to the people of Imo to join him and his team to "Make Imo Safe Again" so that they can restore confidence in the minds of people who have lost hope due to poor state governance.

Meanwhile, Anyanwu was accompanied by his Deputy, Rt Hon Jones Onyereri, Chairman of Imo PDP, Chief Charles Ugwu represented by Secretary of State for Organization, Nze Law Biaduo, Acting Secretary of State, Hon Njaka, South East Organization Secretary of PDP, Hon Mike Ahumibe, Financial Secretary of Imo PDP, Barr Bede Ojimadu, Area Chairman of PDP Owerri, Barr Uche Igbokwe, Okigwe zone, Hon Chidi Dike, Orlu zone, Hon Ugochukwu Nwokoma and Hon Eric Offordirinwa (Mmahu Awo).
