Flying Eagles head coach Ladan Bosso praised his players for executing their plans in the win over Mozambique on Saturday night.
The West Africans reached the quarter-finals after a 2-0 win over Young Mambas at the Suez Canal Stadium, Ismailia.
Samson Lawal and Ibrahim Muhammad scored two sublime goals for Bosso's team in the first half.
The seven-time champions finished second in Group A behind the Senegal Cubs. “We worked for this. We saw them play about two matches in Cairo,” Bosso said during his media interaction.
"We tried to rush them and that's exactly what we did and scored our two goals in the first half. In the second half we introduced other players preparing them for the next step.”
The Flying Eagles will discover their opponent in the quarter-finals on Monday.
