Florida woman, 85, killed by alligator while walking her dog

An elderly woman died after an alligator attacked while walking her dog - and her efforts to save her dog ended up costing her life.
The tragedy occurred Monday in a retirement community in Fort Pierce, Florida, where the beast lunged at 85-year-old Gloria Serge. The alligator allegedly chased the dog at first, but Gloria didn't give up her pet without a fight.

Unfortunately, Serge was knocked down in the struggle, and the alligator dragged her by the foot into a nearby pond... where she drowned. Shortly after, authorities were called in to argue and kill the alligator.
