Chelsea legend John Terry hailed Lionel Messi after the Argentine made his Inter Miami debut on Friday.
Terry took to his Instagram account over the weekend to post a heartfelt message to Messi, calling him an absolute genius.
The former England international said he was lucky to see Messi playing football in this current generation.
Messi made a superb debut for Inter Miami by netting a 94th-minute free kick in their 2-1 win over Liga MX side Cruz Azul.
"We are lucky to have seen this man play and I'm even more lucky to have played against him and tested myself against him. Absolutely GENIUS," Terry wrote on Instagram.
Terry and Messi have faced each other on several occasions in the UEFA Champions League while playing for Chelsea and Barcelona respectively in the past.
