Abuja-Kaduna train: the NRC denies a bad report on the network

The Nigerian Railway Corporation has refuted reports that Abuja-Kaduna Railway Station was having internal network issues connecting to the National Identity Management Commission server.

Speaking at a roundtable with Digital ID4D Project Ecosystem Implementing Partners/Liaison Officers in Abuja on Friday, the NIMC data, Olufemi Fabunmi, explained the reason for the service interruption. by the NRC was an internal network.

The PUNCH reported last week that passengers at Abuja-Kaduna Railway Station were stranded due to NIMC server unavailability.

As a result, passengers scheduled for 9.45 a.m. journeys were unable to board the train. Stranded passengers had to travel to Kaduna by road.

Fabunmi explained that the internal network was unable to connect to the active NIMC server due to poor connectivity.

Director of Rail Services at the Ministry of Transport, Engineer Jimoh Yusuf, told our correspondent in Abuja that the network problems encountered at the station always stem from the NIMC server.

He said, "I'm not aware of any adjustments made by NRC to improve the network situation. It's always the NIMC server that sometimes has problems but always recovers quickly."
