A long overdue mix of innovation, invention and improvement is set to transform vacation options for travelers with disabilities this summer.

Best of all, it's not just planes, trains and (all-terrain) automobiles that promise easier access and commuting more comfortable.

Hotels, resorts and cruise ships are also showing sweeping changes as travel bosses wake up to the size of the market travel for the disabled.

'Many challenges remain for people with disabilities and their families, but the travel industry is moving in the right direction. The world is slowly opening up to everyone,” says Angus Drummond, of Limitless Travel, which specializes in disability-friendly and accessible vacations.
